Ime this works best for the bridge SC pickup and a neck humbucker will cope, especially if it is a cool wind like that one. It just means that the bridge pickup can be set at the just-right height and the neck humbucker can be raised until it sounds nice and juicy.

I must have tried every combination of control values until I got back where I started with this setup. Was not an issue on my full bucker tele's. and I'm seriously thinking about esquiring my CV 50's BSB partscaster. The stock pots and switch (Alpha) have given me no trouble, so I'd like to keep them. Anybody know how to wire one of these switches to give me... Position one (forward) volume and no tone, position two (middle) volume and tone, position three (back) "cocked wah" tone? My Esquire has a standard American type switch with 4 posts to a side. This Alpha switch has 8 posts on one side. This is correct except that I would say nickel silver is somewhat less opaque than brass due its slightly lower eddy current potential, but that only plastic (including the chromed plastic housing Bill Lawrence uses for the Keystone Tele neck pickup) or no housing at all is truly transparent.
