The Nickelback hate needs to stop.

Anyway, what is up with all the hate? Nickelback is a great band. Yes, I said, it they're a GREAT band. It seems like everyone these days enjoys being a hater way too much. Everyone jumps on the "I hate this and that" bandwagon without even thinking about why they hate it, just so they can look cool in front of their peers. Thats the main reason why people hate this awesome rock band.

Listen to songs like this and tell me how could you possibly hate this band:

Another point that was raised in the other thread was that Nickelback recycles a lot of their songs... who cares? Of course their songs are going to sound similar! Listen to any band out there.

Listen to Sweet Child O' Mine by Guns N' Roses and compare it to Paradise City by the same band.

And in any case, it takes a lot to be able to do what Nickelback does. Try singing like Chad does. Heck, try your hand at singing Nickelback's song, "Burn It To The Ground" I gurantee you that you won't be able to do it.

Then there are the guitars, the drums, the bass. Sure, its simple. Sure, its stuff we've been hearing forever now. But yes, it works, and it works very well. Why change a winning formula? Besides, I don't see Megadeth or Metallica getting any flack for re-using their tried-and-true song structures.

I don't see anyone complaining about the tons of other rock bands out there who play similar to Nickelback. No, I only hear people complaining about Nickelback like a bunch of sorry sheep.

Getting signed in the very first place, making great, emotional songs that everyone who's ever been in a relationship can relate to, and making fun songs like "Rockstar" or "This Afternoon", and being able to go out on tour all the time, that takes a lot.

Oh, and that does bring me to another point, Nickelback's funner, party-type songs. People hate these songs. But why? Isn't the whole original point of rock-n-roll is to be free, have fun, and well... have fun?! Darned if it isn't. Listen to any classic rock bands and their songs. I can pretty much gurantee there'll be a few there that are all about partying and having a good time, just like in Nickelback's songs.

Anyway, I'm done. Lets keep this conversation appropriate.

People that don't realize that Nickelback is in a rare league with The Beatles, The Stones, Lynyrd Skynyrd, George Jones, George Strait, Alan Jackson, etc. are all just cranky and crazy. And they have no eye or ear for talent.

While you are at it, you should make a preemptive stricture against showing hate for Creed as well. Creed will go down in the annals of rock at the top of the list for the "What Could Have Been" bands if only the members could have gotten along and made it work. One can only wonder what great heights that band could have reached.

I got news for you, on the internet your going to get a lot of that for any band.
Stop caring what other people think and enjoy your band.

Personally I find the singers voice annoying in that video you posted but that's just my opinion don't let it bother you.

They have little to no deviation from their basic sound, which was never very good to start with. Kroeger's voice is annoying and every instrument on every song seems to be doing nothing technically or musically interesting.

I guess the best thing I can say about them is they can never be accused of being inconsistent..

However, if you like them, I don't see the problem. You carry on liking them and I'll carry on disliking them.

No, I just want to give people a wake up call. I'd love to see them being that ignorant in their everyday lives. But oh well. I don't care if they hate the band, thats fine, but they should at least have good reasons to hate them.

I'm sick and tired of seeing people hating things left and right just to look cool and educated.

Let's see, weak playing. Bland, watered down, sounds like everything else in the last tens years music. yes, I realize, all bands recycle their sound to some degree, very few recycle everybody else's as much as Nickelback does.

Sorry, Chad is far from a mind blowing singer.

The lyrics, which to me, are the most important part of any piece of music, are in general EXTREMELY weak and pedestrian.

I really started taking a closer listen to them after all the bashing started. Because I never liked them, but never realized how much everybody else seems to HATE them. I was curious. They actually have a song or two I don't mind, and one I actually kind of like. For the most part though, meh. It's just more top 40 drivel. Like 80's hair metal without the musicianship.
