I don't like them, you do, so be it.

I actually thought the "this is how you remind me.." song was pretty good when it first came out. I even bought it on iTunes. Unfortunately every song since has been either cloyingly lame, utterly trite or a repeat of that one good song, somehow making it both lame and trite. It is no longer in my library.

Enjoy your Nickelback. I reserve my right to hate them both privately and within my circle of influence where applicable.

I will now return to listening to the Chess Records collection I got for Xmas.

Carry on.

The guys in Nickelback are younger, richer, better looking, more successful, have more hair, sing better, etc........therefore I hate.

Just Kidding. I like em. and agree that there is too much hating going on.

my thoughts on the guy who likes nickleback...you have every right to like them...and people have every right to not like them...you should get the concept of what you like others may not and move on...quit getting riled up about things you cannot control

An interesting fact about me is that I am a total metalhead (wait, what?) Yep, I love the older stuff like Metallica and Megadeth but I also love the old rock gods. Pour some sugar on me, anyone? Teehee Also into a wide-range of music spanning blues all the way to death metal!

I guess it seems really weird that I chose Fender over everybody else but I couldn't help it. I LOVE Fenders! They will be my guitars for year to come :)

Oh yeah, and speaking of which, I am looking for some good ole' blues to learn! I am expanding my guitar skills and am really hyped to play some rockin' blues! Especially since I am buying a Tele =p

Well enough of my ranting, hehe
He's a "metalhead" who loves Nickelback. Somewhere, Dave Mustaine just threw up in his mouth a little.

Yet, being overwrought and judgemental towards others about a crappy band is an enlightened attitude?

It's just a band, it really doesn't matter. I like music, some kinds and performers more than others. Nickelback is just awful.

HOLD ON A SECOND!

Just because somebody doesn't like something you do, doesn't mean they're ignorant. If anything you're the ignorant one. I wouldn't go buy a Nickelback CD, but i also wouldn't call you ignorant for liking them - so don't go calling people who don't like them ignorant.

Music is subjective, you're allowed to like what you like and i'm allowed to dislike what i dislike.

I find them incedibly mediocre. Back in the day, The Guess Who was a GREAT band (listen to anything from Live at the Paramount and back), BTO was a GREAT band.....

Remember the Iran-Iraq war? Ten or so years long, millions dead on either side...

I can imagine one side saying "it's spelled with a q", the other saying "it's spelled with a n"

This thread reminds me of that...

Some people just take it personally when others dislike what they like. They think they have to defend themselves from people they believe are accusing them of having bad taste.

? This is a stretch for a topic about a mediocre rock band.

Nickleback sucks- my opinion, doesn't mean anyone else can't like them. I like Dwight yoakam. Should I be offended if you don't? I could give a rat's petoot...

I will do you a solid as well, by not lecturing you about why should like him...

Hey guys,

chill out.

I hate Nickleback as much as everyone else seems to, but what do we get out of making fun of someone's musical taste?

Especially a 16 year old kid.

Taste is subjective. This reminds me of Annie Hall, where Woody says, "the heart wants what it wants"(or was it Manhattan?) Anyway,

Surely the same could be said for ears?

If you guys are bored or need something to do, I have a thread going over in Music To Your Ears called Great Band/Bad Album? that could use some love.
