...responding to my wife's next command...

Music and graphic arts, a bit more of one or the other through the years. Funny thing is, whenever I'm really digging what I'm doing, it seems to pay the least... ain't that just the way?

play with words

Working as an advertising copywriter, I am, essentially, a literary whore, though not literally a whore. Or am I? Hmmmmm we'll have to ponder that one. Oh well, it beats working for a living.

Unemployed

Lost my job in January, hope to find a new one soon. I'd love to repair guitars and amps for a living, though, hmmm.

Take care,

Programmer. The young turks fresh out of university like to call themselves "Software Engineers". I've been doing it for 15 years, and from what I can see "software engineer" means "don't have a clue". I'm a Programmer. I make things. They work. 8)

technical writer...

Yeah, I write the manuals and "help" for software. If it doesn't make sense, it's the developer's fault.

EDIT: Since 2003, I've changed careers. I'm now a professor of technical communication at Auburn University.

Literary hack

Freelance editor & writer. Make some money (darned little) in a band, but as a musician friend of mine says:

"I play for free, but get paid to move my equipment"
