Ep-pre circuit

I've wanted to build a clone of the Clinchfx ep-pre for a while but I'm not sure whether or not I found the correct schematic. Through countless searches, the circuit at the bottom is all I can find. I have a couple questions maybe some of you can help me out with.

I've heard a 2N5457 jfet will work in place of the rare TIS58 found in the original echoplex, but I have not heard it absolutely confirmed by anyone.

Also if this is the correct circuit schematic, where is the volume pot? Is R6 actually a 100k audio pot like most pedals with a master volume? Or is there something missing?

I'm not worried about the charge pump that this schematic lacks. I will either use two 9v batteries in series or an 18v dc wall adapter. If I like how this pedal sounds I will probably solder the circuit on a terminal strip and place it in a stationary box that will sit on my amp like the old rangemasters did years ago.

Thank you for your help

Your best bet, would be to post this over at FSB. You'd probably get a definitive answer in no time. They might even have it uploaded already, I'd search there at least.

Without the charge pump, you're not going to
get the full effect. This is one reason why the
Xotic EP Boost falls short.

As long as I have an 18v power source, will it make a difference if I leave off the charge pump? How does the charge pump influence the circuit besides providing a higher voltage?

You should look into a Madbean Fatpants, it has just been revised for some added functionality. It has an onboard charge pump and really does the EP pre sound very well. Here is the link to madbean's project page, prepare to lose whatever money you have in your paypal account! http://www.madbeanpedals.com/projects/index.html

+1 on the fat pants.
Built one a few weeks ago and it is a great pedal. It is one of those pedals that you can't believe you lived without.
Here are a few pics of my build.
I really like madbeans boards. Great quality board and I really like pcb mounted pots on this board and that see on a lot of his other boards.

Not sure how that last photo of the guts of my egnater tweaker ended up there but please ignore. My darn fat fingers and an iPhone.

Well the Fat pants does have some similarities with the ep-pre circuit I posted, but all I want really is a tone enhancer; I think this is why I'm drawn to the Clinchfx ep-pre. If possible, I want to keep it as simple as possible so I can build it point-to-point on a terminal strip.

Thanks for your help. The xotic ep booster is something I might consider if I can find enough information about the clinchfx ep-pre circuit.
