Ernie Ball Vol Pedal Taper Mod Question

I have pulled out and dusted off my early 90's EB Volume Pedal. This is the older mono model with jacks on the sides. The thing needs a new pot, its hopelessly scratchy which is why I put it away years ago. DeOxit is not helping.

While reading up on the correct pot at the EB web site, I see that the newer models have an internal switch to choose between two tapers. The stock taper on mine is only useful for 50% of the throw - it changes the volume too fast. My question is if anyone who has one of these has looked to see how this taper option is done? Being a passive pedal, I assume the switch puts another resistor into the circuit to change the pot taper, but I am unsure where and what value to use.

Thanks for the help.

That links no good. Can you point me to a new one? Thanks!
