Tweaked Rat CLIPS

Per Yonie's request:

If you are to create a sound clip please include settings where overdrive is only slightly enabled with volume and tone all the way up and one where overdrive is set to noon with tone at 9 o'clock and volume at 3 o'clock.

Thanks!
Okay, so here's the deal. These things were banged out so fast that it would make any producer wince. Signal path is (very traditional) Tele -> tweaked Rat clone -> '79 Deluxe Reverb, BF'ed. Amp has a Weber 12F150 equivalent in it (older model - back when they were called Ferromax or something like that). I then went into a SM57, straight into a FireBox, straight into QuickTime X. I very minimally cleaned them up in Audacity, so please go easy on the absolutely crapomundo playing, lack of being in tune, yadda yadda.

...It dawned on me that I didn't know what was being requested as far as the "tone being all the way up," so I have one with Filter at max, and another at minimum. Since it's backwards on a Rat, I probably got the nomenclature wrong. Either way, with the highs fully attenuated at minimum gain, you can barely tell when the pedal is on! So partway through that clip, you hear me bring up the Dist just a smidge.

There was NO WAY I could run the thing higher than unity gain, at least not thru a DR!

Tele and DR, Filter max, Dist at 9:00

Tele and DR, Filter min, Dist at 9:00

Tele and DR, Filter at 9:00, Dist at 12:00

Dude, I dig that Tele + '79 DR combo tone. Nice and warm sounding. The pedal sounds good too

Nice touch ending on some ACDC!!!

I love it, too. The only downside is that the amp is super twitchy with many pedals and hotter pickups. Just keep it simple and she sounds sweet! The only thing that I'm still wrestling with is the perfect (or closest to it) 12". Everything that I've put in that amp just sounds so-so. I've had about 8 different speakers in there so far. I'm really craving one of those Jensen Jets, but that's some serious coin!

I hope to have some higher gain Rat clips by next week some time. These clips only go up to 12:00 - things get really wild above that! The truth be told, I never go above 3:00, but it's so gooey and greasy that I could see why folks would!

...I love how these tweaks add a ton of dynamic range, and you can really hear each individual string (IMO), despite all the heavy slewing and "disintegration" occurring in the 308. That is one badass chip - it's like the old Ford 429 big block! Or Chrysler 426 Hemi, 427 Chevy, etc....

I'd love to hear higher gain clips.

The speaker/amp sound great as-is... I'd like to try a Jensen Jet too though :)

At the settings you have the pedal, it still has a pleasant clarity, while having a healthy taste of rudeness. I can't wait to hear higher gain settings!
