Memory Toy Modulation swtich mod

so i have heard alot of complaints about the modulation on the memory toy not being usable so i did some reasearch and all you do is open it up and in the middle towards the top there is a trim pot with an arrow pointing to it and just take a phillips screw driver and turn it clockwise a quarter to a half turn and it is a sweet modulated analog delay

thought i would try and save someone the trouble

i did the same, and then some more. it's now set to something that's barely noticable no matter what the delay is :)

i think the 'problem' with this modulation is it is dependant on the delay time. with the stock setting the modulation sounds good on a certain delay time but is lousy on other times. i guess the idea is you set the trimpot to a position that works best for the usual delay times you use.

that, and the fact the Toy seems not to be true bypass are the only downsides to the unit.

(regarding non-true bypass: create lots of feedback, make it sustain the tone fully blended in and then disable the pedal. you'll still hear the feedback very softly.)

If there's room, you might consider replacing the trim pot with an external pot of the same value.
