EA Tremolo - Which schematic?

Hi again everybody.

I'm thinking about the next pedal to build and I'm thinking about the Electonics Australia (EA) Tremolo pedal. But I'm wondering which schematic I should follow. BYOC, General Guitar Gadgets, Runoffgroove and Tonepad all have their own versions and all are different, with GGG using ideas from Runoffgroove and Runoffgroove moding the GGG schematic.

So the question is: Has anyone built the EA Tremolo pedal and which schematic did you use? Would you use the same schematic if you were to build another one?

It's gotta be the GGG, IMO, because it's got all of the good improvements:

- Orman's input buffer

- Strand's 2nd stage tweaks

- RoG's tweaks to the depth and speed

- volume control to tweak to unity gain

- the option to use the new input circuitry as a mild booster

I built mine following the GGG schematic, and it sounds GREAT!

Hey everybody,
I´d like to build a Tube-Tremolo-Pedal to get a real Fender Tone from the early 60´s. Can you help me with a schematic, parts-list and a layout. Everything helps.

Thank you, Alex

Thanks guys, it looks like the GGG schematic is a winner then.

One thing that is troubling me though is procuring the reverse log pot (C100K). I've been scouring the 'net all day today and heven't been able to come up with a company that supplies them at a reasonable price with reasonable shipping. Mouser want to charge me $39 in shipping unless I order $200 with of parts. That ain't gonna happen. The closest I've come is a dual C100K, so I suppose I could use that but only use one half. Not ideal.

Any suggestions where I might find some single C100Ks?

I'll typically just go with a linear unit instead, since I tend to find a setting that I like and leave it there.

If you scour the internet, there are ways to convert a linear pot into a faux log pot, including C pots in some instances. It requires a bigger pot with parallel resistors across certain lugs.

Just two potential options.

After much searching and frustration I finally found the pots I needed at Small Bear. Their shipping costs weren't exactly cheap, but when compared to Mouser they are. I usually try and shop locally for components, but pots seem to be the one thing that the Australian market can't do right.

Anyway, now begins the long wait until all the parts come in. Oh well I guess that'll give me time to plan the hardware layout and design graphics etc.
