Hi all....

I'm building a couple '53 Precision Bass copies, and would love to see some originals for inspiration....

I found a couple at Fuzzy's site, but generally speaking documentation is rare out there on these puppies....

Would especially love to see a '53-54 with "that" whitish cast to the finish that one sees on Teles of the same period....

Not a black scratchplate (as we brits call them), but I found a beautiful custom colour transitional P Bass at a Guitar show last year.
Asking price: "Offers above £14000".......ahem.

As soon as I find the pictures, I'll put them up.

Here are a couple of pics of a '68 Tele bass I had a few years ago. All original finish, not exactly what you asked for but maybe some finish ideas.
