A couple other guys (two on the left) and I (P-Bass), got invited to sit in with a working band for a benefit dance.

Ya takes 'em when you can get 'em.

Polka Madness

I think the best one time gig I ever had was subbing for bassist in a polka band back in the 70's. Must have been all the Slivovitz. (How do you spell that?)

Still, I can't get that far side cartoon out of my head - Welcome to Heaven, here's your harp; Welcome to Hell, here's your accordian.

Them's button boxes not acorrdeens!

They sound awesome (can I say that here at my age!). There were a couple of accordians out of the picture. A real fun jam - lots of talent.

actually...

I think my photographer/wife was trying to get my better side

Telecaster is my #1 instrument, but I seem to get mostly bass gigs, which is ok. I just wanna perform. The strat player never wants to switch off. He plays gonzo leads. I'm more of a rhythm and fill player.

Bob: thanks for the suggestion. Tortoise would look cool. Maybe I should just trade my '52ri for the '51 P-bass in butterscotch.

Hi Russ

I really like the white on Olympic! My MIM 5 is that way. My 'lust-after' J is faded Oly, white PG and bound maple neck with pearl blocks.

There is a guy in Portland with one that just looks great. He used to play for Porterhouse if you're local to Stump Town! Bald with handle bar mustache, very, very strong player! Have no idea who he is but he's really strong.

My current fav ... for which I need a black stack knob!
