P-Bass Pickup

Who makes a good, relatively inexpensive P-Bass pickup? Some joker replaced the pickup on my 70s P-Bass with an EMG (along with a Badass bridge, which I love), and I'm sick of it. I'd like to get classic P-Bass thud.

Seymour Duncan

His vintage P Bass nailes the sound and is very reasonable.

Can't go wrong with the Fender 62 RI Pbass pickup.

I'll second Tom's comment. Love my 62RI. I have not tried the Duncan. I have heard it is a better match for the Badass, but have not tried either.

I'm running the Duncan vintages along with BA on a J. It's a pretty 'ringy' setup but punch galore. Haven't tried the 62 RI's but I'd like to at some point.

I contiplated for some time which pup for an older P bass I had. This bass had a replacement pup in it of which sounded pretty good, although it was kinda aggressive sounding and loud - buzzy near the amp.

I reasoned the the cheapest decent pup I could find would be a EMG select. But I wanted a more vintage P sound, so for a few pesos more I ordered a '62 P reissue pup from MF. It has great puncy deep tone and is quite. IMO, this pup is worth the $.
