Decent cheap bass?
I have a Japanese Fender Jazz bass, and a headless Hohner Jack bass. Wondering if I could sell them both, make a bit of money, and buy a decent cheap bass to use DI into my studio gear at home, and maybe use on the occasional gig. I tried a low-price Ibanez, made-in-Indonesia GSR200 (?) and thought it felt light, comfortable, and sounded as good as my Fender. Is there a catch here? Will it fall apart in a couple of years? Should I hang on to the Fender as an investment? Any experiences or recommendations for a cheap bass? Thanks.

if you like it, I'd say keep the Jazz Bass.. I've been using an inexpensive
Hamer Slammer bass that I picked up locally off Craigs List for under a hundred bucks.. it's not bad at all!
