Walking bass lines in tab?

Is there a resource on the net? (I'm talking about standards here.) I have a couple of students who are great players but don't have the theory chops to construct thier own. Since I'm not giving them lessons, I hate to take up valuable time in class showing them patterns. It seems like if they can play a good harmonically derived bass line (even though it is repetetive), they will get the changes in their ear.

Thanks for any help.

Ed Freidland's book

I recommend Ed Freidland's book. Does a great job explaining the theory. Play along CD gets challenging pretty quickly (fast jazz changes). At $13.27 with the CD it is hard to beat the price even if you don't get to the more advanced songs.

Walking Bass Lines

On the internet you can have the students check out Fender Player's. Takes a while to download, but is free.

I think Ed Friedlander's Building Walking Bass Lines is great as far as theory. For fun have them pick up Keith Rosier's Jump and Blue book or his Lost Art of Country Bass. Play them over and over all the time. Listening to old blues records is also a good place to pick up the basic lines. Doesn't take much to make up your own after you have mastered a few of these standards bass lines.
