New Squier Classic Vibe 60's Precision
My original 1963 Precision has become worn out and tired. A year shy of her 50th birthday I have to retire her. Today I bought a Squier Precision Classic Vibe, and all they say about these things are true. Although made in China, there is a good finish, feel and tone. Never gonna replace my number one, but for £300, you really cant go wrong. Fiesta Red and tortoiseshell guard, looks a beauty. Very happy boy.

Congrats on the new CV. I think those that have bought them realize pretty quickly that the Basses are the real all stars of the CV Series. I have a CV Jazz I bought barely used and it's an incredibly nice bass.
I've spent a fair amount of time and money upgrading some of my guitars but there's virtually nothing you can do to upgrade these basses. Even the pickups are excellent. I slapped on a new set of strings more to my liking and bought a couple of spare pickguards just to give it a little different look and that's it. There's really nothing more worth doing based on dollars spent vs improved tone or playability.

Couldn't agree more - CV 60's Precision, same as yours in Campbell's Tomato Soup Red, with a set of D'Addario Chromes on it. Old-school thump for days. I know the adjective "growl" is usually associated with the Jazz, but this bass brightens up really nice when you play with a pick down by the bridge - very versatile bass despite the one pickup. Glad I got this bass over the VM, holds up with the American models I've tested too.

Its not gold Cadfael, it's been stripped. It was like that when I bought it in 1982. I have added a few more pics of the neckplate and neck stamp to the Photobucket site, as I am thinking of selling.
