Karl Hoyt is a semi-pro luthier and very nice guy who lives in (I think) rhode island , or maybe out on long island. He teaches shop class in the local high school and regualrly has his students building basses and guitars. He builds a few basses, a few at a time, on order. He hangs out the "the dudepit" a lot (http://pub41.ezboard.com/bthedudepit) and I think he subscribes to "the Bottom line" email digest. A very friendly, reasonable guy. Do a search of "the Bottom Line" archive and you'll find his email.

Yo Brock - that looks sweet. Karl's work seems to be well respected over at the 'Pit so I'd expect it to sound fine as well. ... certainly is a looker!

It plays like a dream. Wow, what a neck. Never felt a neck that so stable (5 bolts) and so easy to play. I just orederd some Fender Custom Shop pickups for it. Gonna take out the Razor pickups in there now and see what happens. The tone is very good. Not a lot of personality, but a very good solid bass tone. Very light and easy to wear and play. I'm a lucky guy!
