Buy a CV Precision!

I know the CV line has been talked about a lot but I took delivery of my fiesta red 60s P bass the other day and it is outstanding. The feel and sound are phenomenal! I'm going to swap the strings for some Ken Smiths and get a pro setup but other than that everything will remain stock.

I've had dozens of basses over the years and still own MIA and MIJ P and Jazz basses (not for long as I can't justify having that much money tied up in basses that I'm no longer going to play!) but the CV is the most enjoyable to play with a sound that's the equal to any other bass I have owned or played.

In short, the hype is totally justified and I think every bass player needs to pick one up while they're still in production.

ditto for me, Plymman. it's hard for me to imagine how a more expensive p-bass could be better than the CV. i think it's the brass barrel bridge that makes this bass so good. the only thing that i don't like is the color, but that isn't too big a problem.

I have a more expensive P bass and the CV is it's equal. Outstanding bass in every way.

i agree with your well-written review, Plymman. i agree that this line of basses will be legendary in the future. they cost about 300 bucks in the states, and i cannot see how a $1200 p-bass could be any better.

The CV basses really are a great buy, a lot of bass for a lot less money than a MIM.

I guess CV guitars are neat as well - I've tested (dunno why, I can not play guitar!) CV Duo Sonic and I suddenly started GASsing towards this little baby :|

The 60's Jazz is just as good. I'm just starting to learn to play the bass (used to played the cello for 5 years then quit, have been playing guitar for 5 years now with no plan to stop), but I have a friend who has a Lakland and an American Jazz bass, and he said that the CV gave them both a run for their money. I guess I got really lucky for starting out with such a good piece of equipment!
