Squier Active Jazz Bass vs Squier Stanred Jazz

I just bought the Squier Active Jazz Bass IV and I am very happy with it.

I tried it out and compared it with the Squier standard Jazz Bass, and seemed to like the active sound better. But the guy at the music store also said active on active basses there are more things to go wrong.

Did I choose well?

Those Active Jazz models are nice basses. Just be sure to keep a extra battery in your case/gigbag.

Yeah. Only one more thing to go wrong, really. Still surprised that phantom power to active electronics isn't more common. I mean, hell... you're already plugging it in to something that's plugged into a power source, right?

I own a Squier Standard Jazz Bass in Candy Apple Red and modified it into a "Fender 1965 Jazz Bass": http://161589.homepagemodules.de/t49...nger-Foam.html (text in German) ...

As you can hear in the sound samples, it has nothing to do with your active Jazz Bass!
Flat Wounds and the foam unter the cover stress the "old fashioned sound".

Would I buy this bass again? YES!
Was your decision wrong? NOOOOOOOOO!

Don't let anybody tell you, that another female would be a better girlfriend for you! If you feel good with your girlfriend, she's the right one - even if others might say she's complicated, strange etc. ...
Let your heart decide if your bass is a good and the right bass for you! No other can judge! And believe me: Gas isn't always greener on the other side!

Enjoy your bass!
Andreas

I have a Squier Active V, and I love it. Put a set of flats on it recently, and it's even more to my liking.
