![]() Customised Fender Precision Bass, MiJ, about 1993. The strings are installed that way just temporary (bridge is going to be replaced) and she's gonna be customised pretty soon, but I just wanted to share my happiness with ya'.

Very early production EBMM Sterling from mid '93. My second Sterling and both my favorite of the 30 or so basses I've owned in as many years. It's as if they were designed just for me.

Tabdog, I had a Super Ferrite Patriot back in 1984. Amazingly capable for the money and surprisingly punchy. The band preferred it over my Precisions, it cut through the mix way better. People tend to know the Foundation and DynaBass but the Patriot was a real sleeper.

Here is my gang of misfits.
![]() L to R standing up: First Act: completely gutted with quality pots, wiring and a real pickup. It sounds really bright and really turns heads whenever I bring it out. Bridgeford ˘heapo special: again totally rewired and a GFS pickup. This feels like it is made of balsa. An odd bird. Squire CV50s: gutted again with a Quarter Pounder pickup. It really thunders now. Squire Bronco with hipshot full sized tuners, Musicmaster string through bridge, gutted of course with a lipstick pickup. I am currently planning on converting this to a Mustang. Laying down: back: Epiphone ET280 bas. Weighs a metric ton. Neck plays like the steering on a 51 Dodge pickup. Needs the pickups rewound. front: "Mansfield" Telecaster bass. Short scale with single coil pickups. This one really has some punch. 5 fun basses: it cost me less than $700 for all of hem
