Post Your Basses.

So I did some searching of this forum and couldn't find any bass pron threads so I thought I'd start one. My apologies if it exists and I couldn't find it. I title searched "Post" and "Show" and netted nothing.

So this is the thread in which you showoff your stable.

I'm a bassist mainly but I happen to own and play a Tele and I love it.

My main player is a 1998 Warwick Thumb Bolt-on 5er tuned to B-standard.

My other bass is a ca. 1982 JV Squier (MIJ) Jazz Bass. That I tune a half step down (Eb etc.)

I'm sure I don't have to tell you guys about the JV/SQ Squiers. Every bit as good as any Am. Std. from any era. This is great sounding an great playing bass.

So let's see what basses the fine folks of TDPRI are rockin.

My bass is a Peavey T-40 and it's too heavy to post

Actually it is only 9.1/2-lb - it just looks heavier.

This is what I've currently got that I'm willing to show photos of (some of my weirder Ibanez stuff I'm not too proud of).

My trusty Precision:

My trusty Jazz:

ATK:

Tank Gibson (in seller's house, not mine):

Best Punk Bass Ever:

Real Mike Dirnt:

The Grabber (also at seller's place):

And finally, Carvin V440 (stock photo, not of mine):

This is an older picture. The HMT now has a fretless neck, and the SCPB has a FretWilkes-makeover

Love it. Very traditional Precision sound. It's the Mexican, not the Squier, so I can't speak to that one. Mine lacks a little bit of the high end that my silver precision (above) has, but it's a well-built, great feeling bass.
I've been considering converting it to a string-through bridge like all my other basses, but haven't gotten up the effort for it yet.
I was lusting after the Lakland Precisions, but after playing them I feel the Dirnt is equal in fit and finish.
The only complaint I have is the Dirnt's control plate wasn't drilled straight from the factory. But that's far better than the insane over spray and crooked nut on the Lakland.

Glad to here you like it. I took a bit of a gamble, it's a shop demo that was on the bay ending at a stupid time of the day so it went cheap. A fender delivered cheaper than what a local shop is quoting for the 50's CV. I couldn't say no!!! and round here unless you are buying a beginner pack the guitars going to be hung up for all to play anyway so the shop demo bit doesn't really matter.

Wow, Ed! You and I need to start a band together:

Ahh, you just can't beat that black-finish/black-trim/maple-neck look!

1995 MIM Fender Jazz Bass with fretless 1971 Fender Precision Bass neck:

I bought this bass brand new in '95. As soon as I got it home, I replaced its neck with this fretless 1971 Precision Bass neck. I had bought the fretless '71 neck in absolute mint condition for $150 in 1981 to replace the original neck of my 1971 fretted Precision I owned at the time because I was heavily influenced by The Police. (I was all of 13 years old in 1981.)

-------

Fretless 1997 MIJ Fender Jazz Bass:

I've read in a couple of places that all of the Vintage White J-Basses made in Japan in 1997 were some sort of special edition for the Japanese market; however, there are no markings anywhere on either the body or neck of this particular bass--inside or out--that identify it as any kind of special edition. Purchased used in 2000 off of eBay.

-------

2002 CIJ Fender JB62-75US Jazz Bass:

Fender Japan version of the '62 Reissue Jazz Bass in Ocean Turquoise Metallic. Purchased in 2002 from Ishibashi Music.

I like this Black and Maple collection. Now all you need is a B&M Jazz Bass and you'll have all the best of Leo's Bass Creations.
