Lefty Telecaster Bass or 51-54 Precision Bass
Hi,
I really like the look of the Telecaster Bass/ early '50's P-bass look. I found and bought one recently on e-bay, LEFTY blonde, a 71 by the neck plate number. The neck is a replacement warmoth.a badass II bridge and a custom white pickgaurd to hide a route that somebody wanting regular precision pickups added ...it's still is very cool ...anyway anyone ever see any tele bass lefties out there? Steve-
Welcome to a fellow lefty. I've never seen a lefty tele bass. Congrats on your find and good luck finding more. Since we are on the subject, I'll give my standard lefty Fender rant. I love Fender instruments, but I'm afraid we've always been something of an unpleasant afterthought as far as Fender is concerned. The pictures of McCartney playing upside down Fenders at the height of the Beatle's fame always leaves me dumbfounded. If they aren't going to take care of him, what chance do we have? Of course, now that the custom shop exists we have the privilege of shelling out a couple of grand and waiting a year or two to get the model we want. But you have to wonder what you will get when (1) they’ve never bothered to create logos that fit on Lefty headstocks, (2) they’ve never ordered a supply of reverse audio taper pots from CTS, (3) they continue to swap the wires of righty audio taper pots (indicating that either no one in the company understands why they are using audio taper pots in the first place or they don’t give a damn how a lefty instrument works). I’ll stop now. The coffee is starting to take effect. Best of luck |
