Sound Clip of Rondo J-Bass

Brief clip of the bass line of Dwight Yoakam's Cover of "Under Your Spell Again"

(BEWARE THIS CLIP GETS LOUD)

So how do you guys think it sounds?

The tone doesn't really do it for me but out of the context of a mix ya never know. Does the original line really do all that bending ? That sort of playing would get me 'the look' from 'fEarless Leader'...

What bass were you playing ? How was it recorded ?

twangy, definitely ...twangy. Makes me want to track down the original.

The bending is actually the guitar solo.

This Bass twangs so much that I like to play it like a Baritone.

The original bass line is that double walk with the pick though.

Thanks Lerb21 for the Utube post. Very cool.
I love playing bass to any Dwight stuff.
I also love the Mavericks and Robert Reynolds playing.

Yep - them Mav'ricks were an underappreciated band to be sure.

'Lerb - ah, got it... Cool enough but like I said - I'd be gettin' the look... were I to do that outside the confines of my own fifedom ... so with that and your amusement in mind I just popped a couple of samples of playing that won't see the light of day elsewhere anytime soon - at least not with my band 'The Fender Benders'.
