Fender 1991 MIJ '51 Reissue inbound!

Courtesy of eBay, in great condition with the _proper_ blonde finish and a SD Antiquity II. I'm so excited :)

Pics when it gets here!

I ran her through the first set tonight & I must say she sounds very nice indeed. I need to adjust pickup & saddle heights though, string response is a bit inconsistent. And she needs flats too :)

The best strings I ever had on both my '51 reissues were Ernie Ball Super Slinkies.

Yours is the proper blonde as opposed to the more common mustard finish. I've had a mustard & a two tone sunburst

Fantastic basses

[Edit]The only reason I fell in love with this was the 'proper' blonde - I've seen a few of the new ones, and that colour leaves me dead cold.

I usually use Fender SS Flats, (I get them for a great price), but I took a punt on some Chromes on my Standard P and I love those. When I'm a little more solvent again I'll be sure to get a set for Deborah (Harry - Blondie, duh).

Dropped the E string side of the pickup just a touch, made things a little more consistent at friday's gig. Harder for me to play fingerstyle, as the single coil pickup is so much smaller than the split. Pickup cover will help that though :)

Congrats.

Much better color than the School Bus Yellow.

You might give the DR stainless flats a go. Very warm for a stainless wound.
