Neck Gap Question

I refinished and stained an Ibanez bass that had a very THICK finish before, and when I put the neck back on there is a gap about 1/10" where the last fret makes contact with the body. Am I going to have to fill the gap, or should I be okay?

You should be fine - lots of guitars, including nearly all arch tops, have a gap like that.

Im pretty sure you will be fine. many guitars, including some strats with the fretboard extension and many of the gibson sg bolt on neck guitars have gaps just like that if not worse!

The sound of the bass will be different, possibly better.

The overhang is fine.

Are you going to oil finish that?
