narrow neck
I have a 3/4 scale bass of unknown origin. The neck is very narrow(2" at the heel)and I can't seem to find any bridges with a narrow string spacing.Anybody now of a bridge with a 2" spacing?

Thanks,Dave. That bridge looks like it would work, but it's a pretty pricy piece for a junk knock around bass. For the price of that bridge I could buy a new SX.I forgot to mention that my music budget is pretty low this year

Edwardjeffrey and Dave,
I am new to forums and just noticed this post regarding narrow string spaced bridges. I had a similar issue trying to find a bridge of these specs for an old Univox HiFlier bass I intend to refurbish. While i was not familiar with the Schaller 2000, it basically seems to be the same as their BB 3530 which i purchased from http://www.dguitarparts.com/ . I notice that Allparts sells this bridge for a whopping $150....not sure what they are smoking at allparts but i got the same bridge athttp://www.dguitarparts.com/ for about $75. They are a smaller store, have good prices and are nice folks to deal with. I had some credit card issues that required a few emails back and forth with a lady named Lynn to resolve, but she had patience and was a charm to deal with. Hope this helps |

Allparts is a wholesaler and importer. They sell retail as a courtesy to people who have no other option, and they sell at full retail so that they won't undercut their retail dealers. If you know your retailers, you can almost always get a hefty discount off full retail -- just like you did in this case. |

Thanks Dave.....
Thats makes alot of sense. I was just quite shocked at the price difference.O.O Ironically, Allparts Ric replacement bridge was priced competetively compared to others..... Go figure.....lol I just hope this tidbit of info helps edwardjeffrey. I know i spent weeks trying to find a bridge that provided the correct string spacings. |
