Recording / computer assistance needed! HALP!!
Okay, if you got this far, I appreciate any help you can offer.
My band often records our shows on a small hand-held Zoom recorder. When the show is over, our drummer bounces the show "track" onto his laptop and wipes the media card. Now, I'm not a computer genius, nor am I computer illiterate. I just don't actually OWN one. My drummer owns one, but doesn't know how to do a lot of what we need! What we NEED is to figure out how to take our 45 minute track, and split it into individual songs. We just don't know how to do it! Seems like there has to be an easy way, but without the knowledge, we're stuck. Please, any help would be great. And don't worry about making us feel "dumb" with answers, since what may be completely obvious to you is going right over our heads!

You just need any one of the many audio processing programs (Garage Band, Ableton, Reason, Protools, etc.), open the one long track in the program, select the part the the track that is one song, cut it out, open a new "project", paste, and save.
No different than opening a sentence in Word or Textedit, copying each word, and pasting it into a new document.

It's easy enough to find out. Load it up and see what happens :-) if it doesn't work good, or you don't like it, move on!

Okee dokie! I'm gonna message him and have him give it a shot. Like I said, we're definitely not computer-savvy, and any help is sure appreciated!
And thank all of you for the assistance! Truly! Maybe if the sound is good on these, I'll post a link to some of our tunes (mostly covers, a few "original" jam-tunes)

Thank You all for the assistance, it looks like we've got it working now! One more favor, we had some issues this morning with people not being able to listen to the entire track on our reverbnation site, only a 30 second clip. I think we've fixed this issue, so PLEASE go to the site and let me know if you have any issues getting the entire track. The success of getting this to work will make it much easier to throw up a few more tracks!
