What a shock!

I'd been wondering for a long time what ever happened to him. I thought he just retired and decided to stay home. His debut was HUGE, and you heard of him everywhere you went. It seemed that after the second album you didn't hear anything about him anymore.

He was a great player.

R.I.P. Jeff Healey

As many of you have said already, his death is indeed a shame. My sympathies to his family.

These posts make it clear that he is affected many folks in positive ways. He did well, and may his spirit live on.

Yeah, me too. Gonna go say a prayer, and spin some Jeff Healey CD's. One of the few and far between guitarists that actually gave me goose bumps.

Vios con Dios Amigo!

I'm so sorry to hear this. I hope that he didn't suffer too awfully much.

What a mess... he will remain a great inspiration as a guitarist and a musical role model for me.
Cancer took my dad away from us this past May and my mom is undergoing treatment right now. It's been taking away more and more people that I love and respect.
Sad, really.
My sympathies to his family and loved ones.

RIP, Jeff. I enjoyed every one of your shows whether it was through your various bands or your radio show, My Kind of Jazz. You made us proud.

Once again we lose a tremendous talent....Jeff was truly an amazing player, a true inspiration to all of us who have ever picked up a guitar. For him to play it across his lap and play in such an unorthodox style, and absolutely KILL while doing it was utterly amazing. Jammin to his cd's has always been one hell of alot of fun.

All the good things we do in this life resonate far beyond our own lifetimes.
He was by all accounts a good and humble man and obviously a great musician.

Thanks Jeff. Safe journey.

For an artform, we lose more than our fair share. You are sorely missed Jeff.

Definitly a huge loss to the music community.

I just got married a month ago, in late January, and Angel Eyes was our wedding song. Not only did he play music that musicians loved and respected, but he also played music for the masses.

Rest in peace, brother. The jam won't be the same without ya.

It's hard to lose a 41 year old husband, son and brother. It must be harder for those children to lose their dad. They're all in my prayers tonight.
Amen to that
