I like the CSI shows, but can't stand David Caruso's acting in CSI: Miami. I don't know what it is, it just irks me. I guess it's his laid back delivery or something, it just doesn't seem to fit his character/profession, imho.

CSI Miami is one of my favorite shows, although I have not seen any of this season due to other time obligations...

I have to say though, most of the reason I watch is Caruso. To me, he kind of makes the whole show.

CSI: Miami - Endless Caruso One-liners:

Just a warning, it's over seven minutes long.

I found it on StumbleUpon.com. It's from some mid-70's horror flick. I know I've seen it but no one, myself included seems to be able to place it.

I think if this post is to continue within the bounds of consensual reality we must all agree that Caruso should not be refered to as an actor unless the word actor is contained within a pair of ' ' , thus indicating that the term 'actor' is being used liberally if not metaphorically.
I cannot understand how this 'actor' has a 'career' at all.

CSI Vegas is still the only one to watch.

I couldnt agree more. Its not just David Caruso mind you, Im damn sick of these colour by numbers cop shows. At the end of each episode "join us for a brand new episode next week, with a plot line exactly the same as this week!".
Bring back some originality...I cant stand these shows (CSI,SVU,Law & Order etc etc etc) & theyre on every damn night of the week here.

I like the orignal, Vegas based CSI, but personally I cannot stand Dave Caruso ever since he left NYPD Blue suddenly to pursue his movie career that he thought was going to be huge at the time. If I was a TV writer, director, producer, or casting agent, I wouldn't even consider using him because he may end up thinking he's a great actor again and leave your show hanging like he did to NYPD Blue. Then I also hate CSI Miami for that blonde tech girl who has some weird sort of southern, yet sort of northern, yet none of the above accent cause she is just a terrible actress.

Nothing personal, but I have never liked any of those shows because they just don't seem realistic to me. I really enjoy First 48 on the Discovery Channel, real detectives working real cases. No actors allowed.

My wife and I enjoyed watching CSI Las Vegas for about the first 9 shows. It was original and interesting. I don't think that they were doing well in the ratings and they decided to make it a much more formulaic cop show. Haven't been able to stomach a show since.

If you like shows like CSI but the acting and writing seem to get in the way try Waking The Dead . It's a BBC show that airs on PBS . Great plot lines and producing . waking the dead BBC it airs in the Boston area on Saturday Nights and Tuesday nights . And Claire Goose is in the cast !!!!

I like to watch the Miami one every once in a while strictly to see how over-the-top Caruso will be. I see it as a comedy with 'splosions. I could not take it every week though.

I like CSI: Miami and it's because of Caruso. It's kind of like watching Leslie Nielson in Police Squad but Caruso's not trying to be funny. It cracks me up when he dramatically puts on his sunglasses, expecially when it's a helicopter shot of him on a rooftop.

I liked the episode a few months ago when the bad guy had him in his sights, all he had to do was pull the trigger. No, he had to pause to explain things, allowing Horatio to simply walk up within range and get a shot off (of course, killing the bad guy instantly). It was almost right out of Austin Powers.

I like the youtube clip. The Daltry scream after each one liner almost made me spit my drink on the screen.

There are much better cop shows out there. I find it also helps not to watch these shows every week, that way the formula isn't as obvious.

One word.

DEXTER.

Every other cop show pales in comparison. Imagine CSI, if Gill Grissom moonlighted as Hannibal Lector.

CSI kinda interesting, but it does lack realism. Like they drive HumVees, what local law enforcement drives HumVees??

David Caruso's "acting" makes me involuntarily wretch.

I think people only watch that show to make fun of him.

The shows premise and environment are bad enough. Add him and its like visual puke.

(I have a very strong opinion on David Caruso)

I think the writers are running out of ideas to be honest. CSI:NY is still ok but not brilliant by any stretch of the imagination. I switched off after the first half hour on tuesday.

The CSI shows are like everything else Jerry Bruckheimer touches. Unrealistic, cliched, and preachy, with wooden acting and stilted dialogue.

But at least the CSI series are better than his Cold Case.

Did you guys realize that Caruso was in Rambo? He was a deputy sheriff in First Blood. I thought he had only been in Thief of Hearts, but recognized him while watching First Blood at a friend's place recently. His departure from NYPD Blue was a great success, huh?

I agree with the Shatner comment--Caruso tries hard to work the dramatic pause.

All of the CSI shows are retarded in one respect--they ignore that there are these people called detectives that direct investigations and solve crimes. They act like technicians in labs run things in a police dept.
