Indianapolis, IN w/ my boy Mr. Bill Kirchen - very tasteful gig notice, I promise!
Hey guys!
I totally hate bombarding you with gig notices hahaha but this one is a good one and seriously my favorite show of the year - it's our fourth annual *CASH BASH* and for me, I'm just about the biggest Johnny Cash fan you'll ever meet, this show is always like a dang dream come true - I get to stand up there and pretend to be Luther Perkins to a whole bunch of rockabilly kids havin' almost as much fun as me haha! It's my favorite show of the year and I literally look forward to it and celebrating his birthday like a kid looks forward to Christmas morning! I know Johnny inspired lots of people and, lemme tell you, I sure was one of them - Luther Perkins and Johnny Cash are without a doubt, the reason I play music - the intro to "I Walk The Line" was the very first thing I ever learned how to play on the guitar - I was 13 and it took me forever to figure it out - it may be pretty simple, but that sure was a whole lot of rewinding for me then, lemme tell ya!...and not to get all mushy on you guys, but I'm the happiest in my life when I'm playing music - their music gave me something I love more than anything else in the world. Our *CASH BASH* is more than just a "tribute show" for me or a birthday kinda thing...it's a big 'ol thank you - make fun of me for sayin' it, I probably deserve to be teased hahaha, but I mean it...it's my favorite show we do and I'm lookin' more forward to this one than I ever have! Mr. Bill Kirchen is comin' up to do this one with us and we're all going to raise a glass to The Man In Black and have ourselves a little Telecaster party If you haaaaaaaaaappen to be in or around Indianapolis, Indiana on Saturday March 1st...I sure would love to meet you and hang out! ![]()

MandyMarie, I won't be able to attend your show, as much as I wish I could! Just wanted to say that I went to your myspace page. Man, I love your band. Great music!

That show went great guys and Bill sure is the king...I admire that guy so much it's just crazy - he's just the king! It's been said on here a million times but on top of being one of the best players breathin' air, he really is just the nicest guy ever.
![]() And talk about inspiration...whew! I haven't put my guitar down since! :O) Next time someone asks how to get out of a playing rut I'm going to say "GO SEE BILL KIRCHEN AGAIN!"

...just saw Bill in Memphis...
...when I attended the Folk Alliance several weeks ago...we've known each other for a while, and it was fun reminiscing about gigging around the San Francisco Bay Area clubs before he moved to DC area, and you're right Mandy,he is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet...I used to always hear him with the "Moonlighters",which was essentially the band that backed up Cody...he was at the FA to participate in,and MC,a gathering of electric guitarist's on stage,to show how it's done,understand???...Freebo (Bonnie Raitt,Maria Muldaur) played bass, and Pete Anderson, plus two more guitar players, and a drummer(sorry, forgot their names)played for about an hour, and they closed with "Hot Rod Lincoln",'kinda had to...of the 4 guitars on stage, there were three Telecasters I should report, and they were twangin'!!!...
