My New Jazzmaster
I've been doing a bit of trawling gumtree and loot.com and came across a CIJ Jazzmaster.
I took a punt on it- the deciding factor being it was £100 less than they usually go for here in the UK, although by US standards it might be a bit expensive. It suffered from the usual problems of Japanese Jazzmaster's- stratty pickups, strings slip off the bridge. I put a Duncan Quarterpounder in the bridge and a Jazzmaster hot in the neck. Replaced the bridge with a mustang bridge and a whizzo buzzstop to keep the strings into the trem at a sharper angle. I tried flatwounds but have switched to 10-52 1/2 rounds.... this lil bugger sounds great.
