Need Info on Belmont University?

I'm finishing up my 2 year degree at Shoreline Community College in WA. It's in guitar performance. I want to follow my dream of making a living as a musician I know it's a long hard road and all that. I've decided on Nashville. So i dont screw myself over completely i figured I might as well continue my schooling in music at Belmont? and on the side build up my reputation as a guitar player? So that is the plan. I haven't really decided on what degree I want to work on while i'm down their, but does anyone know anyone who has attended Belmont? or can give me some info on finding places to live, getting a job, etc in Nashville? I have been playing for abou 8 yrs now I know my theory pretty well, know my scales, pretty much my only trouble areas are sight reading and improvisation, but isnt that everyone's tough spot? haha I'm taking private lessons to help with the improv and sight reading.
thanks for any info

one of the profs is Mark Volman from The Turtles ("Happy Together"):
from his wikipedia entry:
He is current an Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Entertainment Industry Studies Program at Belmont University in the Curb School of Entertainment and Music Business.

a friend's son is in his freshman year there. unfortunately, he's quite homesick and planning to transfer to a school closer to home after this semester. i don't think it has anything to do with the school, he just misses his mama.

famous Belmont alumni:

Brad Paisley
Trisha Yearwood
Minnie Pearl!!!!

I didn't go to Belmont, but I lived in Nashville and went to Vanderbilt. Belmont does have a good music program. There are plenty of places to live near Belmont, but anything that is within reasonable distance to any of the colleges in town (Vanderbilt, Belmont, Fisk, TSU, etc.) are usually going to be priced higher than a place where you would have to drive a bit, so as far as housing, its best to take your time and find a place and not try to get it done in a couple of days. Work...You can always find work in Nashville if you aren't picky. Its not hard to find people to play with in Nashville, but what I often saw with bands in Nashville is that all members were great musicians, but with all that greatness, the members couldn't come together and write a good song together....
