Fun with a new instruments.

I am sitting here at work at it, dawned on me that I forgot to mention that for Christmas I received an Eastwood Mandocaster. It is an electric mandolin it the shape of a telecaster and this thing kicks. I was wondering if there are mandolin players who might be able to steer me to some decent beginner’s books or instructional DVD’s. The only thing I can play on it so far is “Battle Of Evermore” or “Stonehenge” so I’m looking to expand my repertoire.

8 strings. It was inspired by the very short lived Fender mandolin which only had 4 strings so Eastwood upped the ante and made into a full blown mandolin. I'll post some pics soon.

They're great things to play around on. That was my first stringed instrument.

Never saw much instructional stuff though - best to work out your own chords

This thing is very well built and yes, it does stay in tune. And it takes regular ball end strings so you cand use regular guitar strings.
