Banjo Head Stretchers
I aquired a little Banjo Uke from my dad who got it lord knows where. I just disassembled it today with a bit of WD40. The head had been punctured through, burned and hardened over the past 100 years. I went ahead and pulled the remnants of the head off and have got some sanding to do where mice have chewed on the heel of the neck, the first fret, and the headstock. I also need to fill a few holes and carve a new nut from someone trying to make it into a mandolin.
I'm looking for someone who could tell me where I can get a banjo head (but smaller scale obviously) stretched onto this thing. Also any clues on where I could get a bridge and a tailpiece for such a thing? Thanks guys!

Another great banjo resource is Sandy's Music in Cambrige MA. Their website looks a bit out of date, but the contact info is correct:
(617) 491-2812. Sandy's Music, 896A Mass Ave, Cambridge MA 02139 http://www.sandysmusic.com/ And now on to the BANJO JOKES! Q: How many banjo jokes are there? A: Only 2, all the others are true stories. Q: Whats the difference between a banjo player and the Boston Red Sox? A: At least the Red Sox get lucky every 86 years. |
