Extremely Early Beatles Poster...

My brother found this at a garage sale and I took a photo of it with my digital camera...

Notice anything unusual?

Those early invisible Beatles posters are pretty rare. He'd better hold onto that one.

I have pinned up way smaller posters on my walls thru the years...

or maybe I am the "poster"

should I have put picture on the title instead???

I don't see any kind of image whatsoever in your original post. Maybe there was a problem uploading it?

Pete Best

Yeah, (pun intended), that's the promo poster for this record. It's probably worth a few bucks to some collectors of Beatle memorabilia. The Silver Beatles with Pete Best on drums.

That's interesting...I always thought the jackets and ties/mop-top biz was POST Brian Epstein and the Silver Beatles monicker from awhile before.Anybody know when that poster dates to?
And Paul is the only one left who could give us chapter and verse on the Pete ouster-who was for it,who had to be persuaded.I hope he does set the record straight sometime.

My guess is that has to be worth a bit - can't be many of those around.

Good old Ringo featured heavily on TV yesterday. He was part of the opening of Liverpool's European "Capital of Culture" year. Played his drums & sang too.

I'm sure Ringos glad he joined up.

This one's not quite as early (obviously), but I know it's an old one. My Uncle brought it back from a trip to Europe when I was a kid. Forty four years ago. Yow! I believe the writing is in Polish, but one of you may be able to correct that. Not really sure of the collectible value, but I've always liked it.

By the looks of the photo, Paul and John had changed their hair style but George still has some poofyness going on. And for Pete, he really was dropped from the band because his hair wouldn't straighten out.

I believe the story goes that among other differences between Pete Best and the other three, he was unwilling to abandon his hairstyle in favour of the now-famous mop-top cut that Brian Epstein demanded, along with the round-necked collarless Millings jackets designed by Pierre Cardin that became The Beatles' distinctive stage uniform. So he got fired and in his place Ringo was drafted in from his previous band, Rory Storm and the Hurricanes, who seem to have been less than delighted with losing their drummer.

Can't tell you the exact details, but yes, in essence that's seemingly what happened and how Ringo came to join The Beatles.
