printing tab from the web
Hi I have a technical question. usually when i print tab from the web i select the text (tab) copy and paste in word, that way i can print only the tab, no pictures, ads, etc.
However the problem is on the web page the "dash" "-" is the same width as a letter and everyhting is properly aligned, but in MS Word its not, the dash is not as wide as the letter and the alignement gets screwed up, i tried to change the font size of the dash to past as text, formated text unformated text, various fonts, etc... example: ---12-12-12-10-10---12-12-12-10-10 ----0--0--0--0--0----0--0--0--0--0 where the "0" from the second line are supposed to be aligned with th "2" and "0" from the first line from Sunday bloody sunday Any suggestions?? |

If you're willing to spend some money....
I broke down and bought Guitar Pro 5. The licensing is generous in that you can get Mac and Windows and can have it on multiple computers.
It will import text and other tab file formats so you can organize things in one file type and print to .pdf if you have a .pdf writer. The print and chord plus scale features are nice. I got much of that for free with various www sites, but it's nice to have it all in one bucket. |

Yup, I do that all the time.
Put it in Courier font, then a font size of 10. Sometimes you have to go to Page Setup and make the Left and Right margins smaller (about .5 ") to get the whole bar of tab on the same line (so it doesn't wrap around). If you still get wrapping, set the font to 9 or 8, but the key is to use Courier. Cheers, Doug |

Courier is the most common monospace font. Meaning each character (and space) are equal width. Just change the font in your Word doc to the monospace font of your choice, and all will be well.
