Oh, I can't stand another heartache

Nick Lowe - Cruel To Be Kind

I always liked Nick Lowe's music. There's a Rockpile clip of this song, but I kind of think it's lip sync'd, and this one rocks.

Just about everything to come out of Brinsley Schwarz and Rockpile was great. All sorts of great guys were in those bands. Ian Gomm was one of them that almost nobody ever hears about anymore.

I liked "Heart" as well. Lowe's latest effort, the album "At My Age", is a strong one. "I Trained Her to Love Me" is particularly good.

I heart Nick Lowe with a passion. The Basher!

cool stuff!!

back in the day I was a huge fan of ROCKPILE as well as most any Nick Lowe and/or Dave Edmunds production or guest appearance.

Tele content: Edmunds played a 1st generation Fender '52 Tele reissue after he retired his blonde 335 from touring due to it's ever-skyrocketing value!

I once worked with Steve Goulding, drummer for THE RUMOUR (as well as practically everybody else who made music in the 1980's - he's the drummer on Elvis Costello's "Watching The Detectives" for gosh sakes!! recorded as a demo with no intention of release!!?)

a lovely chap and he's still a crackerjack drummer, naturally.

Steve Goulding's an awfully familiar name, but I'm not sure why. I always liked "Watching The Detectives". Elvis Costello at his best! The bass playing on that one's really cool too.

MEKONS, or most any of JON LANGFORD's other bands.

plus he's toured with everybody from THE THOMPSON TWINS to
POI DOG PONDERING.. backed some guy called DAVID BOWIE on
The Tonight Show at some point during the 1980s!

Steve has played on more albums than I've listened to, and that's
a LOT of records and CDs!!!

Ah, Cruel To Be Kind, the first 45 I ever purchased! Our band covers it; such fun to play!
