Merle does unannounced concert in Bakersfield

Just heard this on the news.

Merle walked into a small club here in Bakersfield Fish Lips and played a 2 hr concert for 66 people. His 15 yr old son played lead. Merle is going to be at the Fox Theater here on 2-13-08 and that will be the pro debut of his son playing lead. Binion Haggard is his name.

This will be interesting!

I've got something around here about Benny Binion... I love the old west vegas stuff maybe the most! I always take the kids downtown when we go and I show them what little is left of the old vegas...

I love to picture Merle and Roy, top down, racing over hwy 58 toward vegas!
I'm listening to wynn stewart today in honor of this thread!
