TDPRI NYC get-together?
To put a proper invitation up here :)
Any New York city area TDPRI'er up for getting together sometime next week? I think the plan was to perhaps meet for drinks at www.livingroomny.com on Monday evening (January 7th). We could meet anywhere/any time, but I'll only be around from the 6th-11th (sorry, its all weekdays), so you'd have one (actually two, my gal's coming too) less if it aint in that timeframe :) It'd be a cool way to meet up with fellow TDPRI'ers for a drink and some laughs... |

You know I'll be there...
Jim Campilongo is playing at 11. I'd suggest we get there fairly early - I reckon it's likely to get pretty full in there so why don't we say around 8.30ish...?? That way we can stake out our spot, have a few beers and talk Telecasters for a while before the show... Whadya reckon?

Oh yeah, is there a cover charge to get in? Got any photos of yourself? I'll be the guy with the pompador (probably) and I'll be with the girl with curly hair. That depends on how cheap the drinks are and how incriminating the night ends up :) |

I used to use just Murrays. As time went on I started mixing Murrays with DAX pomade (75% Murrays, 25% DAX). I also used to use some sort of Australian bee wax for a while, forget the brand. These days I'm just using some sort of hair glue punk rockers use for spikes and mohawks. The pomade/grease used to melt in the stage lights and burn my eyes, which was funny. That's not why I quit using it though. The glue stays put even in hard winds.. all day long. With heat/etc pomade/grease would thin out so the back pocket comb started to be less usefull :) Sometimes I would use Sweet Georgia Brown blue colored pomade to make my hair blue for some shows - I don't think they make the punk colors anymore though, it was over ten years ago. |

I just might be up for this. I live just 60 miles north of NYC so a qucik train ride to Grand Central Station and I'm there!
I would even suggest getting an earlier start to go out and do some gear shopping but NYC ain't what it used to be for music gear. 48th Street is a mere shadow of it's former glory. 30th Street Guitars (between 7th and 8th) is a real cool place to visit. Anyone have an address where we might meet?

Hey man, we'd love to have you join us!!
Not sure about hitting 48th street... as you say - not what it once was... Johnny might be up for a bit of gear shopping earlier though...(??) We were planning on meeting at The Living Room at around 8.30 - but if you're gonna come down from your neck of the woods it would make sense to come earlier... Maybe we could grab a bite to eat somewhere? What do you think?
