Ooooooh! I just remembered that the 2nd Avenue Deli reopened 9 days ago, after being closed for 2 years. I've only been to Katz's and Carnegie, but this is supposed to be THE Jewish deli.

All I can say is that if you are here on a Sunday...you MUST go to Hank's Saloon in Brooklyn around 10:pm and catch Sean Kershaw and the New Jack Ramblers. Great place to hang out, free grilled sausages, cheap drinks, good crowd, and the some of the BEST pickers in all of NYC.

And while your there tell Sean RevMike says "Hey!"

Wait... dang it... we're leaving on the 11th which is Friday :(

We'd have to meet up sometime Monday through Thursday... that doesn't sound like a good time for most folks with work and whatnot :(

The bar I was thinking of is called The Magician on Rivington Street (best when my pal Tom is slingin' the drinks though
