Winter NAMM '08 roll call

Alright folks, who's going to NAMM this January in Anaheim?

This time I will not flake and I will meet up with you guys :)

Refreshments will be in my trunk...

Breakfast plans? Lunch plans? "Swing by booth-xx" plans?

I CAN'T WAIT!

Cool, I've gotta TDPRI shirt, but unless I want the smell of old tobacco, whiskey, and B.O. I can't wear it everyday at NAMM.

We'll need to know what we look like, or what we'll be wearing :)

Are there any large TDPRI buttons we could wear on our shirts or lapels? hehe

I am going to be there with Bill Lawrence and I am bringing Ol Piney with me. Jimmy I meant to ask if you were going.

Looking forward to meeting you all!

I believe I will be staying at the Marriot across the street.

I was invited to attend the Anaheim show but I am unable to go to the winter show, and unfortuately will have to wait for the summer show to be my first.

Ironically, three of my now finished guitar designs will be there without me.

Here's the latest photo of my solidbody 'SharQ' design production prototype as it nears completion with just the tuners, strings, neck pup, headstock decal, and a set-up away from playable. It should be complete by the time I type this post. The guitar is in Chattanooga with the luthier/manufacturer, and I'm in South Dakota...in a about four weeks, hundreds of people will see my own creation 'in-the-wood' before I will, which for me, will probably be at least several months yet. Aaarrrrg!

I'll be there all four days. Doing some Savage work, meeting some clients, and helping out for the Museum of Making Music booth. Plus, doing some serious lookin' around!

I'm definitely gonna make it to the Guitar Geek Fest. This is the first time I've heard of that on--WickedGTR what's it all about?

may be a dumb question...but is there a way an ordinary non-merchant get into the show? I'd love to go myself.

John, your designs have always intrigued me and this one is outstanding. I can see Billy Gibbons using something like that. But you would have to make a matching bass for Dusty.

It's Deke Dickerson's annual extravaganza:

I thought the same thing when I saw that. I bet Gibbons would eat that up.

Back to an earlier question...is the show closed or open to the general public? I would gladly drive over to check it out but I'm not a merchant or member of NAMM.

Closed to the general public. NAMM acronym is either North American Music Manufacturers or National Association of Music Merchants.

Only if you get a pass trhrough a particapating member can you go.

It is too late to register online, but I still may have some allotments left... only trouble is, it costs dough this late in the game - even if I have any left over allotment slots of badges.

Lo-fi but fun. Amazing picking throughout.

All being well, I'll be around. Maybe all 4 days, if the feet don't give up! And I plan to be at Deke's do on Saturday evening. It was fun last year!
