Strobostomp2 DOA

Today I received my Peterson Strobostomp2 electronic tuner, however it seems to be defective. The tuner works fine for the first 5-10 minutes but you quickly begin to notice the screen starting to fade after having it on for 10 minutes or so. It will fade to such an extent after about 10 minutes that the things on the screen are not visible at all. I first used the battery that came with the tuner, and I also tried a brand new battery and got the same result. Anyone have experience with these tuners that can tell me if this is a definite defect and not just some sort of power saving feature. If I turn it off for a minute and then back on it comes on at full brightness.

Thanks

I would try flipping the internal dip switches back and forth a bit. Does it do the same thing with a power supply?

Here is a link to the peterson stobostomp tuner forum. The head of customer service, John Norris, responds quite a bit. They will fix it for you without hesitation.

Same thing happened with mine - sent it back to them, they fixed it for free, and now it's fine. Think they got a bad batch of LCD screens. Turnaround time was just under a week from me to them and back.

Call and get a RMA number - they are well aware of this problem.

I just got it ni the mail eysterday, so I am just gonna send it back to the store and get a new one from them. That way I don't have to start the ticker on my warranty yet. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one though.
