Buying a Wii with cash?

What do you guys think of buying a Wii from someone advertising on Craigslist for cash. The are sold out everywhere else, and are going for $600.00 online.

Check for the original see what options if any are available and compare with what you get

Call a few stores in MPLS- Game Crazy, Best Buy, etc. They're going for $249!

I grabbed mine last January online using the Check4Change add-on for Mozilla Firefox. You just install it, then open the web page on Amazon or wherever for the Wii. Highlight the Stock Remaining: 0 text of the page, then right click and tell the add-on to refresh the page every 15-30 seconds and check for changes to that text. Then you just have to leave your web browser open to that page in the background all day. When they update their stock to 15 or 100 or whatever then "Changes" by David Bowie will play out and you have to make a mad dash to check out while they still have stock remaining.

When I grabbed mine they got 150 in stock and by the time I checked out and checked the page again not three minutes later they were sold out again.

It literally required all of five minutes of my life to download and install the plugin, set it up and then a few hours later checkout. Two days later the system was at my door. No waiting in lines, no phoning around, no paying anything more than retail. Highly recommended.

If you get the original receipt, you should be OK but they're not impossible to come by. I just picked one up from the local GameStop about an hour ago. Actually, this is the second one I've gotten in the last month - one for my step-daughters and this one for my nephews.

I thought about just buying one online because $500 or $600 wouldn't exactly break me, but the thought of giving somebody $200+ for basically nothing just rubs me the wrong way.

I decided to do a little research and found out when the GameStop here at the Houston Galleria gets their shipments - which is usually between 10:30 and 11:00. I was there Wednesday and they had gotten three but I was the fourth person to ask. Nothing yesterday, but today they got in 8 or so and I was the first person there after UPS left the store.
