He sure was. And a guy with a sense of humour as well!

wow, that's hard to believe.
I'm listening to Spitz's The Beatles Bio, and "Quiet Beatle" seems apt.

For me, George was responsible for some of the Beatles best moments. Sadly missed.

Such memories. He was my grandmother's favourite Beatle (she's 94 now). The solo from Something is still my favourite guitar solo. Miss ya George.

Thanks George (and hekawi)

Today is indeed a sad anniversary.

It's odd, but without actually thinking about the anniversary, I was just thinking last night that "All Things Must Pass" is probably my favorite album. I like a lot of his other solo material, but ATMP is sublime.

Thanks again,

Cassady

Yeah, feels as if that was only 2, 3 years ago.

Another prime example of Harrison's humor, when being interviewed for the Beatles Anthology when he was talking about meeting Paul when they were both kids.

"He always was nine months older. TO THIS DAY HE'S STILL NINE MONTHS OLDER!" (Cracking up)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FC5TZcDeZHs

In this part he says the thing I just quoted.

The reason I took up guitar. Something about that Gretsch looked so cool, I knew I had to get there.

In a way I'm still angry with him, with his inability to drop tobacco.

A very wise individual once told me pot was a gateway drug, a gateway drug to a powerful and highly addictive substance, tobacco. How true, and how glad I am to have listened.

Same sentiments with Warren Zevon and Carl Wilson, just to mention two. Wonderful talents, all great favorites of mine, sadly lost too soon to a terrible and disgusting substance.

Rest well, all good souls,

Even though Warren Zevon died of lung cancer and was an ex-smoker, his death wasn't tobacco related. He died of mesothelioma--a form of lung cancer that is uniquely associated with asbestos exposure, not smoking.

Unless, of course, you were referring to asbestos as a terrible and disgusting substance.

I remember when they first came out,and we had the record. I was about 7. Me and my older would play the 7 or 8 note intro to "Listen,Do you want to know a secret" ,over and over, and over again. We never even saw a guitar yet ,but knew that was a special sound there.
