I'm enjoying reading the replies to this thread. Many of the albums I was aware of, many I was not. I've been trolling around, putting together some of the "best" tracks of '07 via Itunes and the discs I've picked up this year.

I just stumbled upon this from Joe Henry. It's called "Our Song" from the album "Civilians". I almost forgot about it. Joe streams it live from his website. It's not for everyone, but I think it's the best song of the year. My wife hates it. It's about Willie Mays, a garage door spring, America and Joe.

You know I'm a huge Dream Theater fan, seen them many times, and I can't get in to the more recent albums. I love Scenes From A Memory, Falling Into Infinity, and Awake. Change of Seasons is great, too as well as Train Of Thought. For a great Prog album check out Pain of Salvation - Remedy Lane. It's amazing!!

another vote for Arcade Fire - discovered this quite recently, thanks to my typical "if everybody from random people in the paper, to hip dj types rave about it, i'm not going to enjoy it" attitude.

since then i've played it absolutely loads, and really enjoy it. the lyrics and music are so dark and personal, it's an emotional listen!
