SHRED parody series on youtube!

Funniest thing I've seen recently - along the same lines of the Yngwie sendups that were floating around not too long ago, better done tho. There's, Clapton, Satriani, Slash... good for a laugh Here's the Santana one

That's hilarious! I love how the "music" is in sync with the hands, drums, keyboard etc. ROTFLMAO!

My favorite one so far is Iron Maiden's "The Blooper"

Wired did a story on him, and they speculated that the guy is actually a really good guitarist. It probably takes just as much work to get the song to sound bad in the right way.

These are all great - this guy has a talent for sure. My fave out of all of 'em though is the Clapton one. I get tears in my eyes every time...

Reminds me of the last time I was at the local guitar shop.

You know, the first time someone posted the Clapton one, I thought it was REAL! I was thinking...WTF!...Clapton is playing like crap to make fun of all us bad guitar players out there. It made me kinda angry in a way. Then, of course, I learned it was all a joke.

OMG! Next I guess, someone's gonna tell me all those big breasted women on the XXX sites are FAKE!

The shoppers at Guitar Center who play like that drive me insane. It would have been super funny if they would have edited in shots of a bedroom solid state practice amp with every knob turned to 10.

Santana shredding....then cut to his tiny solid state fuzz amp.

A random tangent, but made by the same dude. Star Wars with "Coming To America" overdubs (the James Earl Jones connection, obviously...)

....but - in the end - for me this Santana "music" is funnier and in a strange way more interesting than his commercial thing he's doing for the last 20 years or so....

Anyone heard "Trio of Doom" by John McLaughlin, Jaco Pastorius and Tony Williams? I listened to it on the in-flight entertainment on a plane recently and it sounded just like the dubs on those shred videos!

Those are hilarious, someone put a lot of time into them.

Unfortunately, lots of guitar playing really sounds like that to me. Noodling and jackin' around.

Really makes me appreciate the playing of people like Abelk here on TDPRI (many others here too).

I can't see the You Tubes here at work, but if it hasn't been linked, check out the one of "Steve Vai Shreds in Denver" with the triple neck. When he changes his pickup selector a fluorescent light buzz kicks in and I haven't laughed so hard in years!
