Favorite Live Albums

I was listening to the Allman Brothers Band "Fillmore Concerts" today and couldn't help but to think what a great album. I love asking these questions because in some cases it really turns me on to some really great music. So, off the top of my head, here are some of mine.

Allman Brothers Band - Fillmore Concerts
Jimi Hendrix - Band of Gypsys
Buddy Guy w/The Saturday Night Live Band - Live: The Real Deal
Led Zeppelin - How The West Was Won
B.B. King - Live at the Regal
Fleetwood Mac (Peter Green era) - Live in Boston

to me the best live album?

Get yer Ya Ya's Out - The Rolling Stones

They were such a different band, especially right after Mick Taylor joined, so bluesy and Keith's playing is spectacular, Mick Taylor brought out the best in him...the obvious benefit of bringing a virtuoso in the band opposite him.

Stray Cat Blues is the perfect example from this record....absolutely scathing blues rock with amazing twin guitar interplay.

I think it might be 'Rock and Roll Animal' by Lou Reed. But then I really like a lot of the ones already mentioned, too.

My favorite albums have always been live albums, from the time I was 12 and got Kiss Alive ...or was it Ted Nugent Double Live Gonzo that did it for me?

My favorites (not in any kind of order):

Nashville West
Hank Thompson Live at the Golden Nugget (great steel playing)
George Jones Live at Dancetown USA (awesome guitar and steel playing on this)
Buck Owens and the Buckeroos In Japan
Buck Owens and the Buckeroos Carnegie Hall Concert
Waylon Jennings live (I have it on vinyl but I want the extended cd version!)
The Velvet Underground Live at Max's Kansas City (the only album I really like by them, despite the fact that it was recorded with a portable cassette recorder)
The Heartbreakers live at Max's Kansas City
Charley Pride In Person (Lloyd Green on steel)
The Allman Brothers at the Fillmore
The Byrds Live at the Fillmore
Rolling Stones Get Yer Ya Yas Out
Big Brother and the Holding Company Cheap Thrills
Johnny Cash at Folsom and San Quentin
