Rochester area Jam

That's right folks, we're having a JAM in Rochester, N.Y.!
It's been a little whilesince we've done this and it seems it's time.

Target Date is Dec. 2nd. Venue needs to get confirmed and I know you'll just love it. Lots of room and excellent beer choices.

As always, we'll start about 1:00 with Crossfyre doing a couple numbers and then just start jamming full tilt till about 7:00 or whenever everybody peters out.

I'll update as details arrive!

Who's in?

I'm in if it's a "Harmonica Free Zone" LOL!

Yeah, I'll be there. I haven't missed one yet plus, I've got a few grand burning a hole in my pocket for relic Tele. If I don't buy new suspension for my Dyna and new PA cabinets before then, it's off to The House of Guitars for a new Tele. (Like I need one!)

Sounds like you've done the Rochester jam before. Do you usually have a pretty good turnout? Is it always on a Sunday?

I have been to 4 Rochester jams that I can remember. They're always a blast and always well attended. Run very smoothly and many of us know eachother from 2 or 3 forums past! Come on out. You'll have a great time!

This will be my third one. The music is fun - the company (excluding Telenator) is terrific!!!

If you can make it, you should do it! There's usually a side-trip to the House of Guitars on Monday, too for those of us who can say over.

So far people are coming from Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut and maybe Montreal - all are welcome! Playing skill is all over the map. You'll hear some incredible players and some hacks (like me). S'all good!

I'll certainly try to make it. I'm only 1/2 an hour away. Where have you had it in the past?

This one is going to be at Lou's Cottage Inn in Mendon. We had one there before and it was a blast!

The other one I attended was at a place called the Millennium in Webster.

And everyone can come to the German House on Dec 1 to see the New York Vaults and the Chesterfield Kings as a warm up for the jam. Just kidding, but I do think the Kings will have a few teles on stage. I know I will.

Keep us all informed, sounds like fun.

OK guys, It's going to be at California Brew Haus on Dec 2, from 1-6 or longer.
Bobby, the booker dude, has gone all out to make us very comfortable there even going to the etreme of moving out a ladies group so we could do it. Also, he's putting it in FreeTime! that's our local rag for listing gigs etc.
here's a link with info on the place...

Bumpee!

Ok, Everythings all set and we're in the homestretch.
Crossfyre will be without their bass player but we've always got a back up.

Chuck has promised some special surprizes and the weather is supposed to be good.
Also, this is a good family friendly situation so feel free to bring along kids and wifey (or special other) if desired. If you need some time with the guys, then tell special other it's not really something that they'll enjoy.

We always have a good time.
the more, the merrier!
Hope to see you all there.

I'm desperately trying to finish up my remodeling in time to make the drive. GibsonJunkie and Strat-Mangler will be along for the ride.

Hey Messhead!
The UV Rays are also opening for the kings.
My son id the lead singer for them. His name is Kevin.
Say "Hello" to him for me.

Don't know if I'll be able to make it out there, but if I do I'll be looking for you.

Forgive me for being naive...is this just some bands playing or will members from here be joining in? I am here in the Rochester area and would love to meet others in my area to learn things from. Is this an "open" jam or scheduled bands already playing?

Thanks for helping out an "out of the loop former partier"!

Everybody plays - even hacks like me...

It's a great non-threatening way to get out and enjoy a great time!

Mikespe,
yes, it's a very open jam.
Crossfyre will do a few tunes to get everything started and then the facilitator, Chuck, willmake sure everyone gets up and plays as much as they want to.
Also, Chuck promises a few surprizes this time. Even I don't know what they are.
There will be a group of three or four kids wanting to get up and play as a band but I told them only three songs then they'd have to be like everyone else.
Some of the regular attenders won't be able to make this one but that just leaves more time for everybody else!
I'm really looking forward to seeing y'all. Bring some others with ya.

Thanks 51mike for the info...I would like to go but I KNOW I am afraid to get up and play in front of all of you! If I can get someone to go with me then I'll be there...I am sure most of you will be bringing significant others...

Also, there'll be some young people there for the first time. Listen, I'll be your buddy there. Just show up and I'll be there. Heck, I may even buy you a beer!

I know a few people have even come - listened and went home. Even I get up and play - when they say it's a supportive non-threatening environment, that's exactly what they mean.
