...uh...
...do I sense a tone of gloat,stantheman???...will Francona easily clear the next Hurdle???...sorry,so very sorry for that...frankly,the Bosox are the natural choice, but I recall a few teams in the not so distant past that overcame huge odds, say the Diamondbacks over the Yankees, last years Cardinals over the Tigers, and both Marlin wins...hey,I LOVED the fact that when the Bosox won their last Series, they were down to their last Strike in the ALCS,and as a baseball fan, that was wonderful entertainment...I just want to see an entertaining series,my heart wants to see the Rox prevail, but my mind says it SHOULD be the BoSox...

Congratulations again to The Red Sox and The Red Sox Nation on winning the AL Championship. They've certainly proved that they are the best team in the AL and probably the best team this year in MLB. The Tribe can hold their heads up high as they played their hearts out in a great series against The Sox and will continue to be a force in the AL for the next few years. I think The Sox will make short work out of The Rockies and look for The Sox to win it all in 5 games.

Got back from the game last night at 1:30...it was amazing to be there. That double play started by Lowell was the clear momentum changer in the game - those first 5 innings were tense, with the Sox not taking advantage of baserunners.
Anyway, we were happy to see the rout after Westbrook settled down after the first three. Lots of riot gear and college students waiting to get into Kenmore Square as we walked out. Any news of anyhing bad happening? I hope not. |

Boston Globe is not reporting any trouble after the game. As I recall, when the Sox won the Series in 2004 the only trouble was that [insert favorite expletive] cop shooting that girl with a beanbag and killing her...

I was lucky that I wasn't busy last night at work because I was able to get regular updates, which required leaving my department numerous times. There are two other Red Sox fans who work my shift and they have the internet access that I do not have. Great job by the Sox.

ed, you sure you aren't a closet Yankee fan? :-)
Relax, get out of the car, & have a drink with my buddy "Next Year". Tell him I said "hi". Congratulations Red Sox - once the series MVP sent the series back to Fenway, they had a fighting chance. This is definitely one time the final score wasn't indicative of the game played - the Indians were tough, *very* tough, for seven innings. I expect we'll see them in the post season again - & regularly if they can keep it together. I'll wait for a new thread for a WS prediction, but those Rockies look tough. 10 straight, & 2 out of 3 earlier this year from the Sox (who were, to be fair, in the midst of their annual June Swoon [patent pending]). Go Sox!

Well, the Sox made a fool out of me. I didn't think they could come back from being down 3-1, the way they were playing. Shows how much I know! I just hope sitting at home has cooled the Rockies off. If that hasn't, Beckett will!

Poor Edhead!!! When Cleveland has to renew the contracts of your centerfielder and 2 " Aces ", if you want to keep them, your payroll will triple. I think both of your top 2 pitchers will be pitching for the Yanks and Sox soon!! LOL I initially read your concession post wrong and actually thought you had some class and were a good baseball fan, I was wrong!! Your a fan of the Indians, not of Baseball!! I still like you though!! LOL

The only Indian that needs signing soon is Sabathia. His contract is up after next year. After his playoff performance, I would seriously consider trading him now. I don't think the Indians have a good shot at signing him if he becomes a free-agent. The old logic was to ride his contract out and hope he pitches you to the world series next year. From what I saw, I'm not sure he will.
Hafner signed this summer for something over $50 million. I sure hope he remembers how to hit a fastball. |
