Y'know Get I think Granderson ends up in Cooperstown and I know it's very early in his career but this guy just makes things happen in the big games.
I'm very impressed. I believe Steinbrenner and Cashman will do everything they can to get Granderson, Carl Crawford, and Torii Hunter into their outfield in the next three years. I know Hunter's deal with The Twins is up at the end of the season and traditionally they don't pay the big buck. Crawford is in Tampa - 'nuff said. And Granderson may have just signed an extension but I'm not sure. Three Centerfielders in the same outfield - though Crawford's been playing a little Left this year I think. For The Yankees and their filthy lucre it would be The Ultimate Coup. Bigger than Reggie. MUCH bigger than "Manboobs" (thanks Genny - You're anatomical term made it on to WEEI this afternoon - the caller, some anonymous NUT gave You credit.) Anyways, those three amigos in the outfield would be like Willie, Mickey and The Duke in New York - on the same club. Heck, even I'd be forced to watch. FWIW - today right now I'd take Granderson over "Mister Manboobs". .....we just scored on Cleveland - goin goin gone!

we want manboobs in SF! he'd be a great Giant!
Hunter's career will be cut short unfortunately because of leg problems... Granderson probably won't have enough pop in his bat to make cooperstown (unless they let Paul Blair in) and Crawford.... also not enough pop... kind of the next Willie Davis. |

Yanks beat up on KC...Bosox won a 1-0 pitching duel against CC Sabathia and the team leading the league in HRs and third in runs scored...I think the gap just got a bit wider, actually!

really? what league is that? Boston is 4th in Runs scored right now and 9th!!! in HRs (those numbers are in the AL.... its 5th in RS and 15th for HR which is even worse for the entire MLB) the red sox may have the best pitching in baseball, but any member of the nation should agree that without Manny and Ortiz hitting the ball, they won't get past the divisional series... last year manny = 35, ortiz hit 54 hrs, right now they're both somewhere around 15.... next year manny will be gone and arod will be at short... for the sox. (i keep telling myself this so that its not a surprise in novemember) i guess putting your faith in julio lugo is cool |

Lester and Gabbard are already stepping into their roles, Gabbard what can Ya say? It's a great story - they knew he was good but he's making "Okajima Waves"!!!! More than anything else I want Lester to be HEALTHY.

Ya know what?
I think if Paul Blair had stayed an Oriole he'd already be in Cooperstown. Everytime I see Granderson and Crawford they've improved Their Games over the previous outings. I really wanted to see Hunter in Fenway Park on a daily basis but now all of a sudden I think it won't be a good fit after all. Hate to say it but seeing how I already did - it won't hurt to repeat it. WE'RE SET.

Changing my prediction...
....I had originally figured NY would win the division in the last week of the season.
I now predict that they will be in sole possession of 1st place no later than August 30, when they will have just completed a sweep of the Red Sox.

A-Rod hit his 499th HR last night. If they try to walk him these days there's a good chance he'll end up scoring anyway they way the other Yanks are swinging the bats.
I didn't see any reason that they couldn't be playing this way all season but now they are so it's great!

He'll get busted in the offseason. They lack quality pitching. The Red Sox will finish in 1st place in The East. None of this matters because whoever goes to The World Series is going to have to get by Detroit and frankly as a devoted Baseball Fan I don't see anyone beating The Tigers. When WE played Them they humiliated us, made us look like a Double A Club. They're so talented that they can carry a less than perfect Pitching Staff. Plus - They've got the best Manager in The Game. I'll root for my Red Sox but I can't see them taking The Tigers in '07. FWIW - I hope I never see A-Rod in a Red Sox Uniform. He has no clue what Red Sox Nation is really about. Right now I think besides Gabbard and Lester the best story is Julio Lugo.

stan -
there is NO WAY arod cheats...... the sox are strong, and the tigers are stronger, but no one knows who will win it..... did you think last year that the wild card 87 wins cardinals would beat the mighty tigers? its baseball. but seriously, you obviously don't know about juice, because Arod was a power hitter with speed, and agility in the field since he was a 17 year old prospect in. Stan tell me one physical sign of steroid use you see in Arod? p.s. you're entire 2004 team was hired guns, and big name free agents, and you beat the evil empire, and Theo and the fans would take Arod in a second. Julio Lugo is -3 compared to any strong AAA player. not to mention his defense. |

If A-Rod is juiced then so is Manny and any other player who excels. Remember it's not easy to hit even 200 homeruns in a career, and no one is juiced for a career that spans several decades. They'd be dead before they reached those kinds of numbers. |

Gimme a break. If anyone suspected A-Rod was on roid's then you don't think Steinbrenner would've already had him checked out?
A-Rod may like looking at nearly nekkid womens but then so do I. Otherwise he's just the best baseball player on the planet right now. Barry Bonds used to be but age caught up to him. Jose's just jealous cause he had to juice himself up to be what A-Rod is naturally.

A-Rod doesn't cheat with meathead juice (steroids), he cheats by trying to swat the ball out of someones hands. Also by calling "MINE" while standing behind someone trying to field a fly-ball. I hope to God that Boston doesn't consider him. It would be a terrible fit.
Oh yea, he also cheats with blond bimbos! |

If the Red Sox pay A-Rod 30-40 million dollars a year I am done. NOBODY is worth that kind of money for hitting a baseball. That is not only obscene but it is flatout immoral. I can live with AA and AAA baseball. Money aside I do not care for A-Rod 1. the slap at Arroyo 2. the elbow at Pedroia 3. the popfly in Toronto 4. horrible in the playoffs. He may be the may be the most skilled player I have ever seen but he is missing something upstairs. |

Secondly everyone who considers themselves part of Red Sox Nation IS a Teamate of this great group of Human Beings. Your banal attempt at humor falls somewhere laughing at The Blind and Cemetary Vandalism. Suffering a little depression over your favorite QB?

everyone here who likes baseball needs to read "baseball between the numbers"
or at least look at baseball a little more openly ... I keep reading the same crap that gets regurgitated by old man sportscasters.. "players get too much" "arod sucks in the post season" etc. etc. that whole red sox nation rant is hilarious.... I love the gross generalization that "just because an individual likes the red sox, the are a great human beings" who can argue with that? i jsut puked from laughing. |
