Lap steel "fret" draw-in?
There's a lap steel that has been in the planning stages for a long, long time. I want to have a rosewood board, that would involve putting white in for the frets.
I think it would be easy to use paint for model cars and such (haven't been to a hobby store in a while but vaguley remember rows of tiny bottles). umm... what is this stuff (poly? acrlyic?)? Can I/Should I spray a coat of poly over it to seal it in?

Cut "fret slots" in the rosewood and glue in maple binding or purfling stood on edge and trim flush with the board.
It is more visible than it looks in these low res photos and looks a lot better than paint. ![]() The ebony board works nice with maple "frets" too.
